The SS Barcelona departed Bremen on June 10, 1913 arriving in Quebec on June 30 but landing passengers on July 1, 1913. (Note this is 21 days. Most of the ships were making the crossing in 14 or less. My uncle said they left Russia May 25th, the passage on board the Barcelona was 16 days, and they landed on July 4th. Well, he was 6 years old and this information is close enough to match this ship. The passenger manifest lists no Russian Germans! No one by the right name is listed either! I will review more rolls of microfilm, hoping to find my family - and the list will benefit by more Ger-Rus names until I find them. There is a Web Site which describes four ships named Barcelona although I feel certain this one is the correct ship for my family.
Any one recognizing any of these people may want to rent this microfilm to verify or elicit more information than I recorded. A better familiarity with the village names and surnames would be helpful in deciphering the handwriting and creative spelling.
